CORTLAND, N.Y.- Match-ups for the women's tennis championship bracket are officially set. The event will take place at the Binghamton Tennis center, October 8-10.  

All eight SUNYAC women's tennis teams will be competing in the three-day championship. The teams are seeded in the East and West divisions based off results in their division during regular-season play. The tournament will be single-elimination to get through the winner's bracket and determine the 2016 champions. There will be consolation matches taking place on day two.

First round action begins Saturday, October 8, at 11:30 a.m. when East #1 New Paltz takes on West #4 Oswego. The next match will start at 2 p.m., when West #2 Fredonia battles against East #3 Plattsburgh. At 4:30, East #2 Oneonta faces West #3 Brockport. Saturday play concludes with the 7 p.m. match-up between West #1 Geneseo and East #4 Cortland.  

On Sunday, the winning teams will play at 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. in the semifinals. The two consolation matches will be played for the first-round losers at 8 a.m. on Sunday. Action concludes on Monday, when the top two teams will battle for the SUNYAC championship at 10 a.m.

Last year, perennial powerhouse Geneseo claimed the SUNYAC title for the fifth year in a row and ninth time overall. This year, they were undefeated (3-0) in their division.
