CORTLAND, N.Y. – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has named its cross country athletes of the week with just over two weeks remaining before the championship. The SUNYAC championship meet will be hosted by Geneseo at Letchworth State Park, Oct. 29.
Cross Country Female Runner of the Week – Allison Schumann, Cortland
(Sr. - North Salem, N.Y.)
Schumann finished third out of 126 runners at the Hamilton College Invitational. She covered the 5,000-meter course in 19:07.9, placing behind only two runners from Division II East Stroudsburg. Schumann's effort helped the Red Dragons finish second in the final team standings.
Cross Country Male Runner of the Week – Mitch Ryan, Cortland
(Sr. - Plattsburgh, N.Y.)
Ryan finished in seventh place in a field of 154 runners at the Hamilton College Invitational with a time of 26:13.9 over 8,000 meters. He helped lead the Red Dragons to a third-place team finish out of 14 schools.
