SUNYAC fall championship week continues

CORTLAND, N.Y. -  After first round games in soccer on Saturday, 18 State University of New Yorth Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) teams continue to play for the league title in their respective sports.

Four teams were eliminated in first round play and will have to wait until next year to play for the SUNYAC crown.

In men's soccer, Fredonia defeated Plattsburgh in double overtime and will travel to play Oneonta on Wednesday, November 2 at 1 p.m. Buffalo State will also travel to play top-seeded Cortland on Wednesday after a 2-0 win against New Paltz on Saturday.

On the women's side, Oneonta moves on with a big 4-0 win against Brockport on Saturday. The Red Dragons will travel to play Geneseo while Plattsburgh will face top seeded Buffalo State on Wednesday at 1 p.m. The Cardinals defeated Oswego, 2-0, in the first round.

Volleyball will have its first round games on Tuesday, November 1. New Paltz will host Oswego and Fredonia will host Geneseo, both at 6 p.m. The winners will match up with Oneonta and Brockport respectiviely, Novermber 4 in Brockport.

With a four team bracket, field hockey is set to play its semifinals at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Oneonta will travel to Cortland and Geneseo to New Paltz. The winners will face each other in the championship game on Saturday, November 5.
