SUNYAC Ice Hockey Athletes of the Week Announced

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected its ice hockey athletes of the week based on competition between November 7 - 13

Men's Ice Hockey Athlete of the Week - Tim Kielich, Brockport
(So, F - East Aurora, N.Y.)
Tim Kielich tabbed seven assists in two games, helping the Brockport ice hockey team sweep the home-and-home series with Morrisville and earn four points in the SUNYAC standings. The sophomore picked up an assist on three of the four Golden Eagle goals in Friday's 4-3 win, then tabbed four assists on Saturday in the 9-6 victory. All but one of the assists came on power play goals.

Men's Ice Hockey Goalie of the Week - Mike DeLavergne, Buffalo State

DeLaVergne posted a 1.00 GAA and a .964 save percentage in a pair of Bengals SUNYAC wins over the weekend. He turned aside 22 shots as Buffalo State knocked off No. 5 Plattsburgh, 4-1, on Friday and then made 32 saves in a 4-1 win over Potsdam on Saturday.

Men's Ice Hockey Rookie of the Week - David Szmyd, Geneseo

In a pair of games at Canton, Szmyd scored two goals in the Knights 6-6 tie on Friday before adding a goal and an assist to Saturday's 8-5 victory.
