SUNYAC Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week Named

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) picked its third weekly awards for men's and women's swimming and diving.

Men's Swimming and Diving Diver of the Week - Samuel Randall, Geneseo
(Jr. - Pittsford, N.Y.)
Randall swept both diving events in the Knights' 163-113 victory over visiting Cortland on Saturday. He set program and pool records in winning 3-meter (381.20) while also winning 1-meter (338.10). Both scores were NCAA Regional-qualifying scores. 

 

Men's Swimming and Diving Swimmer of the Week - Kevin Schaub, Geneseo
(Sr. - Blauvelt, N.Y./Tappan Zee)
Schaub won three individual events and added a leg to a record-setting relay to lead Geneseo to a 163-113 victory over visiting Cortland on Saturday. Schuab won the 200 backstroke (1:55.18) with the 16th-fastest time in the country this season while also taking first in the 200 freestyle (1:49.89) and the 100 butterfly (52.70). Schaub also swam on the winning 200 medley relay team that logged the sixth-fastest time in the country this season (1:33.96) while setting a new pool record. 

Women's Swimming and Diving Swimmer of the Week - Sydney Ng, Geneseo
(So. - Staten Island, N.Y.)
Ng won the 1,000 freestyle (11:04.86) and the 200 backstroke (2:10.69) while adding a leg to the winning 400 free relay (3:41.12) to lead the Knights to a 157-129 victory over visiting Cortland on Saturday. 


Women's Swimming and Diving Diver of the Week - Meghan Bartlett, Fredonia
(Sr. - Johnstown, N.Y.)
Bartlett was a double-winner Nov. 12 when Fredonia met Alfred and University of Rochester. She scored 266.60 to win the 1-meter and 299.80 points to win the 3-meter. So far this season, Bartlett has won 9 of 10 events and is earning this SUNYAC weekly honor for the second straight week.
