CORTLAND, N.Y. – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) is set for its final volleyball pool play of the season as Oneonta and Buffalo State serve as this weekend's hosts.
Friday's action in Buffalo starts when Brockport, 6-0 in conference play, takes on Potsdam and Cortland faces host Buffalo State at 5 p.m. Day two in buffalo serves up matches between Potsdam vs. Cortland and Brockport vs. Buffalo State at noon. Finished by Brockport vs. Cortland and Potsdam vs. Buffalo State at 2:30 p.m.
In Oneonta pool play begins at 5 p.m. when New Paltz faces the host Red Dragons and Plattsburgh takes on Oswego. Those games are followed by a highly anticipated match-up between Geneseo and Fredonia who are both 5-1 in SUNYAC play. Saturday's action starts at noon with Oswego vs. New Paltz and Plattsburgh vs. Oneonta. At 2:30, Geneseo takes on Oneonta while Plattsburgh faces Fredonia, finally day two concludes with Geneseo vs. Oswego and New Paltz vs. Fredonia at 5 p.m.
After this weekend, the next SUNYAC volleyball competition comes in the championship tournament. As of now only Brockport has clinched a playoff berth leaving the rest of the bracket wide open. The results from this weekend will determine who is moving on to the playoffs and who will be eliminated from post season play.
