CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected the men's lacrosse matchup between Brockport and Alfred as its game of the week.

This contest was a thriller as four quarters was not enough time to determine the better side on Tuesday. The game saw Alfred jump out to an early 1-0 lead after an early opening goal from Peyton VanBibber, which was the only scoring the first quarter had.

The second quarter was an offensive explosion for Alfred as they added four more goals to their tally, going up by as many as four goals. After being down 4-0, Brockport got things going as Zach Cook put the Golden Eagles on the board. The quarter ended with both teams trading goals to make the score 5-2 at halftime.

It looked like Alfred was going to keep their lead intact after they scored to open up the third quarter and regained a four-goal advantage over Brockport. The Golden Eagles rose to the occasion as less than a minute after going down four goals, Brockport's Patrick Sheridan kicked off a three-goal burst followed by goals from Billy Coppola and Jake Recor.

Down by one goal in the fourth quarter, Brockport's Jake Recor scored the tying goal to bring the score level at six goals. Regulation time ended and overtime was needed to break the deadlock as Brockport's Liam O'Connor scored the winning goal for the Golden Eagles.

The Golden Eagles will travel to Keuka College on March 10 for a 1 p.m. matchup against the Wolves.
