CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected its Baseball Athlete of the Week, Mike Dellicarri from Oswego and Sam McCumiskey of Brockport as the Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 1.

Winning his second athlete of the week award of the season, Mike Dellicarri's consistency at the plate led the Lakers to a three-game sweep of New Paltz over the weekend. The senior went 2-for-3 each game, batting .667 on the series, including two triples. Dellicarri also drove in four Laker runs and scored five. The outfielder showed his patience at the plate as well, drawing a walk in each game. Defensively, Dellicarri finished the series with a 1.000 fielding percentage.

McCumiskey threw two gems this past week to help grab two conference wins and lead the team to a 5-1 week. He started the week against Oneonta, and tossed a 7.0 inning complete game, allowing only two runs off of four hits and he struck out six batters. He ended the game retiring seven straight. The senior followed that performance with another 7.0 inning complete game against Plattsburgh State, throwing a three-hit shutout and recorded another six strikeouts.
