CORTLAND, N.Y.- Geneseo takes its fourth-consecutive State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Dr. Patrick R. Damore Commissioner's Cup, announced Monday at the conference's annual awards banquet.

Geneseo finished with an average of 8.97 points to clinch its fifth overall cup in the history of the award which was started in the 1996-1997 academic year. Cortland, a 17-time winner and the only other recipient of the cup, came in second with an average of 7.56 points followed by Oneonta in third with 6.5 points. 

The Knights had an outstanding year winning 13 team championships which is a record for the most team championships by one school in a year. They took home four championships in the fall, six championships in the winter, and three in the spring. 

In the fall the Knights won both men's and women's cross country. The men were led by senior Isaac Garcia-Cassan who was the Runner of the Year for the second year in a row. The women were led by Elise Ramirez who won the Runner of the Year. The women's tennis team won its seventh-straight title by beating New Paltz in the final, 5-3. Geneseo's fourth title of the fall was in women's soccer where they dominated Plattsburgh, 4-0, in the championship game. The team was led by senior Leah Greene who was the conference Defensive Player of the Year. The Geneseo women's soccer team made it all the way to the third round of the NCAA tournament where they fell to Johns Hopkins. 

The Knights won all but one championship in the winter season. They took both men's and women's indoor track and field championships. Again they were led by Garcia-Cassan who won the Track Athlete of the Year award. Chirs Popovici of Geneseo was honored as both the Men's and Women's Track and Field Coach of the Year. Men's and women's swimming and diving also were won by the Knights and head coach Paul Dotterweich was honored with both the Men's and Women's Coach of the Year awards. Geneseo also won the women's basketball title with a hard fought 58-52 win over Oneonta. The team was led by junior McKenna Brooks who was named Player of the Year in the conference. Geneseo's fifth title of the winter season was men's ice hockey where they beat Fredonia in the finals and made it to the second round of NCAA tournament where they lost to Colby.   

Geneseo closed out the academic year by winning both the men's and women's outdoor track and field championships. The Knights also took home the SUNYAC softball championship and head coach David Sylvester was honored as the conference Coach of the Year.
