Buffalo State hires Kroll to take reins of swimming and diving program

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Buffalo State director of athletics Jerry Boyes announced the hiring of Mike Kroll as the Bengals' head men's and women's swimming and diving coach and aquatics director effective Aug. 29.

Kroll most recently served as the first-ever head coach at Division III Manchester University in Indiana for the past four seasons, where he earned Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Women's Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year honors for the 2017-18 season.

He previously served as an assistant swimming coach and aquatics director at Ohio Wesleyan for three seasons following a two-year stint as the head coach and aquatics director at Genesee Community College.  Kroll began his coaching career at the College at Brockport as a student assistant and then spent two years as staff assistant coach. 

A student of the sport, Kroll has also worked 10 years as a coach and counselor at the Army West Point Swim Camp and has previously coached at the University of Tennessee and California University of Pennsylvania Swim Camps.  

A native of Medina, N.Y., Kroll completed his associate's degree from Genesee Community College and his bachelor's from Brockport while participating as a member of the Army ROTC.
