2018 SUNYAC cross country championship preview

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The stage is set for the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships. 

 

When: Saturday, October 27, 2018 (Women's 6k start at 11:15 AM; Men's 8k start at 12:15 PM)  

Where: SUNY Fredonia, 280 Central Ave., Fredonia, NY 14063. 

DIRECTIONS TO CAMPUS PARKING FOR SPECTATORS: 
From the New York State Thruway (Exit 59), continue west on Vineyard Drive for approximately 1 mile to T-intersection at Central Avenue. Turn right under Thruway overpass and make immediate left onto Waldorff Road. At top of hill, turn left onto Brigham Road. After passing baseball diamond and outdoor track, take left at Lake Way Drive. Parking lots are located straight ahead adjacent to University Stadium. 

From U.S. Route 60, north to Vineyard Drive, follow directions (above) to T-Intersection with Central Avenue, etc.   

Who: All 10 member institutions, both men's and women's teams - Brockport, Buffalo State, Cortland, Fredonia, Geneseo, New Paltz, Oneona, Oswego, Plattsburgh, Potsdam

Women's Championship

Geneseo will be looking to win yet another SUNYAC women's cross country championship this season. The Knights have won 17 out of the last 18 SUNYAC titles, Cortland was the only school able to stop the Geneseo win streak in 2010. Geneseo holds the record for most SUNYAC titles with 17, Cortland is second with 16, and Plattsburgh is third with one title.  

Men's Championship

Geneseo has won 14 out of last 18 SUNYAC men's championship, including the last four in-a-row. Their 16 SUNYAC titles are the most in the Conference, Cortland is second with 14, and Fredonia is third with eight.
