SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The men's and women's basketball schedules and men's ice hockey schedule announced by the State University of New York Athletic Conference on Tuesday, Oct. 6, are drafts that must be approved by the SUNYAC leadership prior to implementation.
"At a future date the leadership of the SUNYAC will discuss making the final decision on the basketball and men's ice hockey schedules with health and safety of the student-athletes being the priority," Tom DiCamillo, commissioner of the SUNYAC, explained.
Any decision to resume intercollegiate athletics at a member institution will be expected to conform with the approved reopening plan established at each university.
The decision also will be impacted by the mandates provided by the SUNY System and the guidelines established in the Reopening New York documents. In addition, NCAA protocols on testing and social distancing will be part of the decision-making process.
