SPRINGFIELD, MASS. - The nationally 16th-ranked Cortland women's lacrosse team broke open a one-goal game at the half by outscoring Roger Williams, 12-1, over the final 30 minutes of play for an 18-6 win Saturday afternoon in non-conference action in Springfield, Mass.
Sophomore Lexie Meager (Syracuse/West Genesee) led the Red Dragons (4-1) with five goals and one assist. Junior
Carly Stone (Syracuse/Jamesville-DeWitt) and freshman
Hannah Lorenzen (Stony Brook/Ward Melville) each netted three goals. Freshman
Hannah Tiso (Somers) scored twice, and sophomore
Brie Yonge (Penn Yan/Penn Yan Academy) tallied one goal and two assists.

Kate McGarrity (East Syracuse/East Syracuse Minoa) netted her first career goal for Cortland.

Paige Potter (Cortland) who stopped two shots in 8:30 in her first collegiate action. Lorenzen added four ground balls and three caused turnovers, Meager won seven draw controls and junior
Hailey Dobbins (Syracuse/CBA) secured six draws.
Emily Stoeppel and Carly Martin each scored twice for the Hawks (4-1). Devon Sarazin and Kaelin Hogan netted one goal apiece. Stoeppel also contributed eight ground balls, five draws and three caused turnovers, while Rylie Dalzell scooped up six ground balls, Lauren Flahive secured five ground balls and caused three turnovers.
