Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Brockport Buries Fredonia, 19-1

FREDONIA, N.Y. – The College at Brockport women's lacrosse team breezed by Fredonia State 19-1 Tuesday afternoon in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action. The Golden Eagles move to 2-7 (2-1 SUNYAC) in 2018, where the Blue Devils fall to 0-10 (0-4 SUNYAC).
 
Brockport dominated the game from the first whistle to the last. Sara Grapevine and Hannah Cullen opened up the first half with a pair of goals each to jump ahead 4-0. The Green and Gold tacked on four additional goals before Fredonia scored their first, to lead 8-1. Samantha Dooling, Grapevine, and Heather Conklin netted a goal apiece to extend their advantage to 11-1 heading into halftime.  
 
The Golden Eagles tallied their first goal of the second half just a minute into play to pull away 12-1. Taylor Thomas notched back-to-back scores to help widen the gap to 14-1. After an additional three goals, Briana Davies and Dana Kiselica each put one in the back of the net, to close the game out, winning 19-1.
 
The Golden Eagles defense was lock down on the day, forcing Fredonia to turn the ball over 22 times. The Green and Gold also limited any offensive opportunity by the Blue Devils as they could only manage a total of 11 shots compared the Brockport's 41.
 
Brockport was led by Grapevine who ended the day with four goals and an assist, where Thomas finished with three goals and two assists. Conklin was successful on both ends of the field racking up two goals, three caused turnovers, and four groundballs. The Golden Eagles offense was also a perfect 4-4 on free position attempts.
 
Goalie Sarah Brown played the full 60-minutes between the pipes and racked up seven saves on the afternoon.
 
The Brockport women's lacrosse team stays on the road as they travel to Oneonta this Saturday April 14, with the game set to start at 1 p.m.
