Maissa Dieye (New York/Manhattan International) scored his second goal in as many games and Buffalo State controlled the balance of play in a 1-0 victory over host Geneseo in today's SUNYAC opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Dieye scored the game's only goal in the 15th minute on a header off of a feed from Barak Benyehuda (Syracuse/Westhill)
- The Bengals defense did the rest as Andreas Queen (Stone Ridge/Rondout Valley) needed to make just one save for his fifth shutout of the young season.
- The Bengals outshot the Knights, 20-11, including 10-1 on goal.
FOR THE FOES
- Dillon Medd made nine saves to help keep Geneseo in the game.
NOTEWORTHY
- Buffalo State's 7-1 record is the best start to a season by the Bengals since they went 7-0-1 to open the 2004 season.
