GENESEO, N.Y.— Geneseo held visiting Buffalo State to 34 percent shooting from the field and outrebounded the Bengals 45-35 en route to a 78-62 victory in SUNYAC action this evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sheldon Adams (Rochester/Bishop Kearney) paced the Bengals with 17 points on 7 of 7 shooting from the charity stripe.
- Jordan Christopher (Bronx/Mott Haven Campus) chipped in 12 points and six rebounds, while Zion Guzman Milton (Valley Stream/Valley Stream) added eight points and six rebounds.
- Geneseo held the Bengals to 20 percent shooting in the first 10 minutes of action and raced out to an early 25-11 lead at the midway point of the first half.
- The Knights maintained a double-digit margin for the remainder of the first half and claimed a 43-23 halftime lead.
- Buffalo State outscored Geneseo 39-35 in the second half but were only able to trim the deficit to 69-55 on a layup by Mark Worthy (Williamsville/Williamsville South) with 2:31 left in the contest.
- Geneseo tallied seven made free throws in the final minute to clinch the conference win.
- The Bengals held advantages in points off of turnovers (11-8) and in second-chance points (15-13), but failed to overcome a 38-32 edge in points in the paint held by the Knights.
FOR THE FOES
- Alex Merhige and Michael Gannon each finished with a game-high 22 points and combined to grab 15 rebounds.
- Dignan Harrison added 10 points and five assists.
