BUFFALO, N.Y.—Buffalo State and Cortland tangled in a sprint dual meet today at Kissinger Pool and the Red Dragons prevailed, despite several winning marks posted by the Bengals. Cortland's men edged Buffalo State, 151-135, while the Red Dragons women prevailed 187-92.

NOTABLES
- Junior transfer Jon Pilat (Cheektowaga/West Seneca East) had a breakout meet for the Bengals, touching first in three individual events. Pilat won the 50 back in 26.83 seconds, captured the 50 free in 23.06 seconds, and claimed the 100 back in 57.97 seconds.
- Pilat also joined Zach Nau (Spencerport/Spencerport), Cody Wittmeyer (Hamburg/Hamburg) and Shane Breen (Middle Village/Middle Village) to open the meet with a victory in the 400 medley relay, clocking 3:46.10.
- Wittmeyer had a strong individual day as well, touching first in the 100 fly in 52.80 seconds, winning the 100 free with a time of 49.19 seconds, and prevailing in the 50 fly in 23.88 seconds.
- Branden Rivers (Lockport/Lockport) was also a double-winner, sweeping the men's diving events. Rivers won the 1-meter competition with a score of 253.45 points, and posted a mark of 260.60 on the 3-meter board.
- Marita Miller (Freeville/Dryden) was the lone event winner for the Bengals women, racing to a first-place finish in the 50 fly in 29.21 seconds.
