ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's volleyball team swept its matches on the final day of the Hartwick Tournament on Saturday at Lambros Arena, defeating King's College, 3-0 (25-15, 25-23, 25-21), before topping host Hartwick College, 3-2 (20-25, 25-19, 24-26, 25-22, 15-12).
The Cardinals rise to 5-7 overall with the wins and kick off State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action with a conference pool play pod at Memorial Hall from Friday-Saturday, Sept. 22-23. King's falls to 9-3 with the loss, while Hartwick drops to 5-7 with the setback.
Plattsburgh State 3, King's 0 (25-15, 25-23, 25-21)
The Cardinals hit at a .226 clip against the Monarchs and also held the upper hand in service aces (12-3) and blocks (7-4).

Rachel Mennonna (Selden, N.Y./Newfield) and freshman middle hitter/right side
Michelle Simmons (Riverside, Calif./Riverside Poly) paced the Plattsburgh State attack with seven kills each, while freshman setter
Allyssa Rock (West Chazy, N.Y./Beekmantown) distributed 26 assists. Rock and sophomore outside hitter/right side
Hunter Grotjohn (Scottsdale, Ariz./Horizon) paced the back row defensively with 12 and 10 digs, respectively.
For King's, junior outside hitters Jill Korgeski and Rachel Miller tallied 11 kills each, while junior setter Maddie Kumm dished out 29 assists and added 10 digs for the double-double. Junior right side/setter Julie Kollar posted the match-high in digs with 25.
Plattsburgh State 3, Hartwick 2 (20-25, 25-19, 24-26, 25-22, 15-12)
Plattsburgh State showed that fatigue was not a factor in the nightcap, hitting .205 for the contest while holding the advantage in both service aces (8-7) and blocks (7-4).
Grotjohn led the Cardinals with a career-high-tying 17 kills, while Rock dished out 37 assists. Defensively, sophomore libero
Bryanne Yasui (Honolulu, Hawaii/Moanalua) tallied 25 digs, while Grotjohn completed the double-double with 20 digs. At the net, sophomore middle hitter
Tatyana Barlow (Palmdale, Calif./Pete Knight) came up with four solo blocks.
For Hartwick, freshman outside hitter Maria Sorriento floored 18 kills, while freshman libero Katie Boak led the way defensively with a match-high 26 digs.
