PITTSFORD, N.Y.—The College at Brockport men's soccer team lost its second game of the season after a tough game against St. John Fisher College by a score of 3-2.
The Golden Eagles fall to 3-2-1 on the season as the Cardinals move to 3-0-3.
Brockport fell behind early in the game, letting in a goal in the 10th minute, but they did not give up. The Green and Gold battled back in the first half and in the 35th minute
Jason Hayes would net the equalizer from 25 yards out. The defense would stand its ground as the match went into the break tied 1-1.
The contest was neck-and-neck for most of the second half with neither team letting up.
Alex Giordano gave the Golden Eagles their first lead of the game in the 77th minute, scoring his second goal of the season after going one-on-one with the goalie. The momentum was short lived however, as a penalty shot in the 80th minute got the Cardinals back to a tie game by a score of 2-2. Brockport was able to keep the game tied, but a goal in the 85th minute by Fisher put the Green and Gold on the losing side of this battle.
The Golden Eagles travel to Elmira College for a 4 p.m. match on Monday Sept. 18.
