CORTLAND, N.Y. – Three different players scored goals as the Cortland field hockey team ended nationally 20th-ranked St. John Fisher's 12-game win streak with a 3-1 victory in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at Stadium White.

Sophomore Hannah Burchell (Whitney Point), junior Jess Gibaldi (Westbury/W.T. Clarke) and senior Anna Branch (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) each tallied a goal for the Red Dragons (11-3). Junior goalie Kailynne Reinoehl (Lititz, PA/Warwick) made eight saves, and junior Shannon McGuinness (Carle Place) recorded a defensive save.

Sophomore Kelly Bergamo (Liverpool) scored for the Cardinals (12-2). Junior goalie Ashley Maynard (Rochester/Hilton) registered 12 saves.

Burchell gave Cortland a 1-0 lead 17:45 into the game when she converted a penalty stroke. St. John Fisher tied the game 4:34 before halftime on Bergamo's fourth goal of the season. McGuinness kept the game at 1-1 with her defensive save with just under two minutes remaining in the half.

Gibaldi scored the game winner, her team-high 11th goal of the season, at the 59:04 mark, knocking her own rebound past Maynard. Branch added an insurance goal at 67:21 with a shot that deflected in off a Cardinal defender for the 3-1 final.
