ONEONTA, N.Y. - Junior
Brenna Conover (Smithtown/Hauppauge) scored her team-high fifth goal of the season early in the game and the goal help up as the Cortland women's soccer team defeated Oneonta, 1-0, in the SUNYAC opener for both teams Friday afternoon. The visiting Red Dragons posted their sixth shutout of the season, including their fifth straight, and ran their shutout streak to 534:24.

Abby Miller (Andover) stopped two shots in the second half. Goalie Alexis Ryder registered three saves for Oneonta (0-6-1, 0-1).
Conover's game-winning score came in the sixth minute. After Ryder made a save on Swayne's initial shot, Conover knocked in the rebound. Oneonta pressed late for the game-tying goal, and its last opportunity came in the 83rd minute, but Miller made a save on Hannah Kaplan's shot to seal the win.
