BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The College at Brockport field hockey team lost 3-0 to conference foe SUNY Cortland Friday afternoon in State University of New York Athletic Conference play. The Golden Eagles fall to 2-9 (0-3) on the 2017 season, while the Red Dragons move to 6-3 (2-1).
The first half was a defensive struggle for the Green and Gold as Cortland found the back of the net eight minutes into the contest. Brockport continued to suffer as the Red Dragons notched two more goals in the 17th and 18th minute. The Golden Eagles headed into the halftime break trailing 3-0.
After a 30-minute lightning delay, Cortland opened up the second half with another goal 10 minutes into the contest. The Brockport offense answered with a penalty corner opportunity in the 42nd where
Katie Ziemba ripped a shot high. The gap increased as, the Red Dragons added two more goals in the 50th and 62nd minute to increase their lead to a final score of 6-0.

Sarah Beam finished the day with 14 saves in the net.
The field hockey team will take some time off before they play Oswego State at home next Saturday Oct. 7th, with the game slated to start at 1 p.m.
