Lakers Drop Final SUNYAC Game to Cortland

OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's soccer team fell to Cortland, 1-0, in conference action on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Lakers move to 7-6-1 this season with a 4-5 conference record, while Cortland improves to 9-3-3 overall and 6-3 in SUNYAC action.

Oswego was relentless on offense, with 15 shots and eight on-goal. Audrey Burbidge had a team-high four shots while freshman Lynsey Roth contributed three of her own, all on-goal. Roth's best shot came in the 84th minute when she was alone on the right side of the field, but a leaping save by the Cortland goalie kept the ball from going in.

Five minutes later, Roth was at it again. With 1:07 left in the game, the Liverpool native tried to take advantage of a loose ball in the box, but Cortland's goalie managed to make the save.

Reigning SUNYAC Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week Emma Allen collected seven saves against the Red Dragons, her third-highest total of the season. Allen played all 90 minutes for the Lakers.

The Lakers will be back in action on Tuesday for their final game of the regular season at 3:30 p.m. at Hamilton.
