Junior Joey Panariello surpassed 100 career points with his two goals and two assists
Box Score CORTLAND, N.Y. – The nationally 14th-ranked Cortland men's lacrosse team scored the game's last five goals and held Plattsburgh scoreless over the final 21:48 to earn a 10-7 come-from-behind victory Saturday afternoon in the SUNYAC opener for both teams. The Red Dragons improved to 6-3 overall, while the Cardinals fell to 1-7.

Joe Scalise (Fairport) turned aside 10 shots and collected four ground balls for the Red Dragons. Sophomore
Gage Gomez (Sayville) won 9-of-13 faceoffs and controlled seven ground balls.

Thomas McNaney caused two turnovers.
Senior Ryan Hubbard (Aquebogue/Riverhead) paced Plattsburgh's offense with three goals. Sophomore Kevin Litchauer (Poughkeepsie/Arlington) netted a pair of goals. Freshmen James Sherwood (Manorville/Eastport-South Manor) and Justin Wise (Niskayuna) each scored a goal, and seniors Brad Johnston (Altamont/Guilderland) and Billy Moller (Greenlawn/Harborfields) and freshman Stephen Kane (Hampden, MA/Minnechaug) registered one assist apiece.
Senior goalie Donald Tesoriero (Huntington) made 20 saves for the Cardinals. Senior Travis Mauro (Northport) won nine faceoffs and secured eight ground balls. Hubbard finished with seven ground balls, and senior Sean Hayes (Levittown/Division Avenue) caused a game-high three turnovers.
Cortland took a 3-1 lead just before the midway point of the first quarter before Hubbard made it a 3-2 score with just three seconds left in the period. The teams then traded five goals in the second quarter with Haggerty and Hubbard each scoring twice, and the game was even at 5-5 heading into intermission.
The Cardinals opened up the third quarter with a pair of goals to grab a 7-5 advantage with 6:48 on the clock. From that point, Cortland took control of the game. Riley and Bulman each scored on bounce shots to close the third quarter with the teams tied at 7-7.
Mike McNaney opened the fourth quarter with a goal 2:03 into the period to give the Red Dragons the lead for good. Stiles made it a 9-7 score at 9:38, and Panariello finished off the scoring with a man-up goal at 34 seconds for the 10-7 final.
