SUNY New Paltz Men's Soccer Allows Two First-Half Goals, Results In 2-0 Defeat Against SUNY Oneonta

| By:
Box Score Oneonta, NY – The State University of New York at New Paltz men's soccer team let up two first-half goals against rival SUNY Oneonta Saturday, which ultimately led to a 2-0 defeat.

Kevin Hoff scored his second goal of the season for the Red Dragons in the 12th minute, putting away a corner by Roberto Ventura.

SUNY Oneonta (10-1-1 overall, 6-1 SUNYAC) doubled its lead in the 36th minute, as Ventura won possession in the Hawks' defensive third, found some space and knocked his league-leading 11th goal of the season.

SUNY New Paltz (5-9 overall, 1-6 SUNYAC) held the Red Dragons offense from there, however, and withstood the pressure. SUNY Oneonta tallied 26 shots, to the Hawks' three and knocked 10 shots toward goalkeeper John Guzzo, who finished with eight saves on the day.

Ryan Martinez, Joe Mausler and Khalil Scott-Ludewig all tallied a shot on the day for SUNY New Paltz, which will conclude their SUNYAC play on the road against Fredonia State and Buffalo State next weekend.
