The SUNY Oneonta men's lacrosse team put together a five-goal second period to pace themselves to a 9-2 victory today against Elmira College. The Red Dragons held a tremendous advantage in shots (41-18) while forcing 26 turnovers en route to its third win of the season.

Oneonta (3-2) scored the lone goal of the first quarter when senior
Hunter DeLuca (Medford/Patchogue Medford) scored a man-up goal at the 6:40 mark.

The Red Dragons began to pull away in the second quarter scoring four unanswered goals to grab a 5-0 lead before Elmira scored its first goal of the game. Junior
Stephen Panno (Holtsville/Sachem East) scored consecutive goals to get things going. DeLuca scored his second man-up goal at 6:37 and
John Shea (Huntington/Huntington) followed three minutes later to cap the run.

Panno added a third goal in the third quarter making it the only score of the quarter, as Oneonta took 7-1 lead into the final quarter. Shea and
Michael Cegielski (Yorktown Heights/Somers) put the finishing touches on the game with back-to-back goals in the fourth quarter.

Sophomore
Zachary Flynn (Stony Brook/Ward Melville) recorded 10 saves to pick up his third win of the season.

Oneonta will remain at home this Wednesday when they host nationally ranked Ithaca College on Red Dragon field beginning at 4pm.
