Allie Reeds (E. Amherst/Williamsville South) tallied a penalty kick and two assists while
Alexis Hanson (New York/West Broward) chipped in a pair of goals as Buffalo State earned its second-consecutive SUNYAC victory with a 3-0 win over visiting New Paltz this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State started early for the second-straight game as Reeds received a pass just outside the 18-yard line and flicked a pass to Hanson, who collected and fired a one-timer past the keeper to give the Bengals a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute.
- Hanson doubled Buffalo State's lead when she converted a header in the 14th minute off the corner kick by Reeds.
- The Bengals possessed the ball for the majority of the first half as they outshot the Hawks 11-2 in the period.
- Buffalo State continued the pressure in the opening minutes of the second half and were rewarded when Reeds converted a penalty kick, following a handball in the box by New Paltz, to extend the lead to 3-0.
- The Hawks had their best scoring chance late in the contest but Taylor Carillo (Pine Bush/Pine Bush) made one of three saves to complete the shutout.
FOR THE FOES
- Angela Ratka finished with eight saves for New Paltz.
NOTEWORTHY
- With her eighteenth career shutout, Carillo is now only two away from breaking the all-time record set in 1984 by Sue Hough.
- Buffalo State has started 2-0 in conference play for the third time in four seasons with each of the previous two times ending with an apperance in the SUNYAC title game.
UP NEXT
Buffalo State will look to extend its record to 3-0 in conference play for the first time since 2016, as it travels to Geneseo for a SUNYAC contest next Friday at 4 p.m.
