OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Hawks from Hilbert traveled for the second weekend in a row for another volleyball tournament.

The Royal and White dropped a pair of non-conference games at the Oswego State Invitational against the hosts and Utica tonight. 

Hilbert slips to 0-9 while Oswego improved to 3-6 and Utica moved to 6-2.

Sophomore Torianna LeWand has become a utility player for the Hawks doing a little of everything.  Today, she led Hilbert with five kills, 12 assists, four service aces and 11 digs. 

Sophomore Ashley Repine chipped in four kills, five assists and 21 digs.  LeWand and Repine combined for Hilbert's only block assist on the night. 

Freshman Sierra Seader posted 11 digs through two games and added five kills through six sets.

Hilbert opened the night against Oswego and suffered a 25-5, 25-10, and 25-12 set loss.  The Hawks fell to Utica in two quick sets (25-11, 25-8) before putting up a fight in the third (27-25).

Seader led the Hawks with four kills against the Pioneers from Utica while LeWand posted nine assists as Repine kept play alive with 13 digs.

Hilbert returns to action tomorrow with a pair of games beginning at 11am.  The Hawks will face Elmira in the first game and then wait until 3pm for their match against St. John Fisher College.
