OSWEGO, N.Y. - The Oswego State Women's Tennis team edged Cortland by a 5-4 score on Tuesday afternoon at the Romney Field House in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action.  Seniors Samantha Spence and Haru Kobayashi won in both singles and doubles to propel the Lakers to victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Oswego took two of the three doubles matches to kick things off.  Bridget Bender and Spence won 8-6 at second doubles and Kobayashi and Erin Vargo won 8-4 at third doubles.
• In singles action, Kobayashi won 6-1, 6-3 at third singles and Spence won 6-3, 6-4 at fifth singles.
• Junior Eliza Johnson defeated Cortland's Rachel Sullivan 6-4, 6-4 at fourth singles to give Oswego the deciding point.
• The two wins in conference are the most since the 2007-2008 season.

The Lakers return to the court on Sunday at 12 p.m. when they host the Pioneers of Utica College in non-conference action.
