ONEONTA, N.Y. - Cortland won five of six singles matches to erase an early 2-1 deficit and the Red Dragons knocked off previously unbeaten Hartwick, 6-3, in a non-league dual match at the Hartwick Courts. Cortland improves to 3-1 with the victory.

Cortland's lone doubles point came at the third flight where Isabella Arrigo (Sauquoit/Sauquoit Valley) and Tina Wertman (Rochester/Caledonia-Mumford) posted an 8-4 victory. Hartwick's Heidi Rice and Kelli Ryan won 8-5 at first doubles and Kelly Napolitano and Jaclyn LaSita won 8-2 at second doubles.

The Red Dragons turned the tables in singles play with five straight-set victories. Mia Hayes (Binghamton/Chenango Forks) won 6-1, 6-2 at the top flight, followed by Nikaylah Williams (Wheatley Heights/Half Hollow Hills West) with a 6-0, 6-4 victory at number two.

Arrigo won her first set at fourth singles 7-6, with a 7-4 tiebreaker, and completed the sweep with a 6-2 win in the second set. Cassie Special (Williamsville/Williamsville South) recorded a convincing 6-0, 6-2 win at fifth singles, and Olivia Terry (Hampton Bays) won 6-1, 6-2 at sixth singles. Ryan earned Hartwick's lone singles victory with a 6-3, 6-2 decision at number three.

Cortland will host Alfred on Friday at 4 p.m. and Brockport Saturday at noon.
