Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Lakers Out Shoot Brockport in 1-0 Loss

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's soccer team was unable to erase an early deficit in a 1-0 loss at Brockport on Friday evening. With the defeat, the Lakers drop to 6-5-1 overall and 3-4-0 in the SUNYAC while the Golden Eagles improve to 8-4-2, 3-2-1.

Despite the outcome, Oswego outshot Brockport handily in the game, attempting seven more shots than its counterparts (15-8). Brockport was able to capitalize on an on-goal chance at 10:54 that proved to be the contest's only tally.

For the Lakers, Audrey Burbidge and Lynsey Roth led the Lakers in shots, each firing four. The duo also accounted for all of Oswego's five on-goal opportunities, with Roth putting three on net and Burbidge testing the goalie twice. Four of those chances came in the second half, with two happening in the final 11 minutes as Oswego pushed to try and find the equalizer.

Alexa Restante had three shots in the game while Gianna Perri, Emma Geyer, Gabby Corrente and Sarah Grupp had one apiece.

In goal, Emma Allen made three saves in the loss, as the freshman's record matches the team's after earning all 12 decisions for the Lakers.

Oswego will have a tall task on Saturday as it tries to bounce back into the win column at No. 8 Geneseo. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
