Men’s Hockey falls to Brockport, 4-2

BROCKPORT, N.Y.— Brockport tallied three first-period goals, including a power play goal with 55 second left in the period, to skate to a 4-2 victory over visiting Buffalo State in tonight's SUNYAC contest in the Tuttle North Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Andrew Husted (Niagara Falls/Grand Island) tallied his fifth goal of the season and first career shorthanded marker, while Jon Colley (Stouffville, ON/Stouffville District) netted his fourth on a power play goal off assists from Mac Wood (Simcoe, ON/SCS) and Reid Bibb (Gaithersburg, MD/Gaithersburg)
  • Brockport controlled the possession for most of the first period, as they outshot the Bengals 10-4, and were rewarded with three first-period goals.
  • Buffalo State returned the favor and outshot the Golden Eagles 11-2 in the second frame as the Bengals scored twice in a five minutes span to trim the lead to 3-2 at the final intermission.
  • Brockport added an insurance marker just over a minute into the final period to complete the game's scoring.
  • Connor Minch (Manchester, NH/Manchester Central) finished with 15 saves in net for the Bengals.
  • Buffalo State outshot the Golden Eagles 32-19 during the contest and were 1 of 7 on power play chances.
 
FOR THE FOES
  • Connor Hutchins and Jordan Renaud paced the Golden Eagles with a goal and an assist apiece
