ONEONTA, N.Y. -  The College at Brockport women's lacrosse team won in an exciting overtime battle against State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) opponent SUNY Oneonta, 14-13. The Golden Eagles move to 3-7 (3-1 SUNYAC), where the Red Dragons fall to 6-5-1, (2-2 SUNYAC),

The Golden Eagles suffered as Oneonta scored back-to-back goals to reclaim a 2-1 lead. After a game-tying goal by Jade Williams, the Green and Gold allowed three goals to fall behind 5-2. The Brockport offense picked up the pace after three straight free position goals, two coming from Heather Conklin and one from Andrea Zlinsky. The Golden Eagles stumbled as the Red Dragons took a 7-5 advantage on a pair of goals. Conklin cut the deficit to 7-6 for the Green and Gold as she capitalized on her third free position goal. After another Oneonta goal, Brockport strung together two goals from Grapevine and Conklin to set the halftime score at 8-8.

Both teams went toe-to-toe in the second half, as both teams traded back-and-forth two goals each to have the score set a 10-10.  Brockport took a slight edge, 11-10, on a Williams goals when she received a pass from Chloe Kurst and ripped her shot past the Red Dragon goalie. After Oneonta tied the game up, Conklin notched her sixth goal on the afternoon on a free position to regain a 12-11 advantage.  Brockport slipped as the Red Dragons added another, but Taylor Thomas answered to hold onto a 13-12 lead. The Golden Eagles locked down defensively, but allowed a last-minute goal set the score at 13-13 heading into the overtime period.

The Green and Gold wasted no time in overtime as they only need 12 seconds to decide the winner of this game. Thomas won the opening draw control and hit Kurst with a pass to have a one-on-one with a goalie, that she capitalized on her shot to win the game, 14-13.
