PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Junior guard/forward
Chris Middleton (New York, N.Y./Cardinal Hayes) scored a career high of 27 points in the Plattsburgh State men's basketball team's 95-79 win over St. Lawrence University Tuesday night in Memorial Hall.
Middleton recorded 11-14 field goals including two three-pointers and all three free throws he faced.
The game was tied four times before the Cardinals went on a six point run to take the lead. Junior forward
Isaiah Hill (Brooklyn, N.Y./HS for Dual Language and Asian Studies) tied the game 10-10 then junior guard
Brandon Johnson (Greenburgh, N.Y./Woodlands) had a steal and dunk to take the lead.

Ian Howard (Queens, N.Y./Springfield Gardens) had a steal and fed the ball to Middleton for a layup and the extra point after a Saints foul. Howard made a free throw one minute later to take the 16-10 lead with 14 minutes remaining in the first.
The Saints closed in and took the lead after an eight point run and the Cardinals took it back with two three-pointer from sophomore guard
Nick DeAngelis (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) and Middleton.
The Cardinals kept the lead for the rest of the first half and went into halftime with a 42-35 advantage.
Plattsburgh State started the second half with a nine point run. Senior guard
Eric Mack (Roosevelt, N.Y./Baldwin) put in a layup followed by a three-pointer by Middleton and finished it with another layup and two free throws to lead 51-35.
The Cardinals kept the lead the remainder of the game and took their largest lead of 18 points with 24 seconds left after a layup from Middleton, a dunk by Johnson and a layup from junior forward

The Saints were able to put in a layup with eight second remaining to cut the Cardinals win to 16 points.
Plattsburgh State shot 56.3 percent from the free throw line and recorded 18 points, nine in each half.
The Cardinals had 23 points off turnovers as the Saints committed 20 compared to Plattsburgh State's eight.
DeAngelis recorded 13 points including three three-pointers, Cox had 12 points and Mack had 10. Johnson also had 12 points and recorded four steals. Howard picked up 10 rebounds, seven points and five assists. Senior guard
Zack Coleman (Putnam Valley, N.Y./Putnam Valley) recorded nine points, four steals and three blocks.
Plattsburgh State is home Friday, Dec. 1, to open SUNYAC play with a game against Fredonia at 7:30 p.m.
