Men's Soccer Cant Hold On To Early Lead Against SUNY-Fredonia

Sept. 4 - BALTIMORE, Md. - The Bison men's soccer team fell to SUNY-Fredonia on Sunday, 4-1, in their second game in the Johns Hopkins Tournament.  

The Green and White got off to an early start against the Blue Devils, when in the first minute, freshman Jose Arzate (Waller, Tx. / Waller) dropped a shot in the top right corner to put Bethany up 1-0. 

The Bison held the advantage until the 24th minute when Fredonia scored the equalizer off a rebound in front of the net.

Just before the half, the Blue Devils took the lead when David Trabold found the back of the net on a low crossing free kick.

After Fredonia netted another goal in the 65th minute, they then jumped ahead with a goal on a shot from inside the box, giving them the three goal lead with just under six minutes to play.

From there, Bethany was able to surmount the lead, handing them their first loss of the season.

Of the 11 shots the Bison attempted, four were on-goal. Callum Appleby (Maidstone, United Kingdom/Maidstone) saw all 90 minutes of action in goal, saving six shots.

With their record at 0-1-1, they return home when on Wednesday, Sept. 7, they host Marietta at 4 p.m
