PITTSFORD, N.Y. -- Fredonia junior
Aleeya Clemons (Olean, N.Y.) scored early in the second overtime Tuesday as the Blue Devils nipped St. John Fisher, 1-0, in women's college soccer.
A Fisher turnover in its offensive end came with a high, long pass ahead to Clemons. She outhustled a defender and scored on a breakway early in the 104th minute. It was the fourth goal of the season for Clemons and her first game-winner.
Clemons nearly broke the scoreless tie at the start of the first overtime but Fisher's Melissa McGowan made the save, one of two she made in the game.
Fredonia freshman goalkeeper
Marissa Quimby (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) made five saves while posting her second shutout. She improved to 2-4 this season while the Blue Devils upped their mark to 3-4. The loss dropped Fisher to 2-5-0.
The Blue Devils enter SUNYAC play this weekend with a pair of home games -- 3 p.m. Friday vs. Geneseo and 1 p.m. Saturday vs. Brockport.
