ITHACA, N.Y. – The nationally 15th-ranked Ithaca men's lacrosse team outscored 20th-ranked Cortland, 8-3, over the final 30 minutes of play to erase a one-goal deficit and defeated the Red Dragons, 13-9, in non-conference action Wednesday night. Cortland dropped to 8-6 with the loss, while the Bombers improved to 12-2.

Junior Terrence Haggerty (Centerport/Harborfields) scored a game-high five goals to lead the Red Dragon offense. Four other players - senior Liam Erickson (Brewster), juniors Joey Panariello (Islip) and Dean Riley (Homer) and freshman Rob Free (Port Jefferson Station/Comsewogue) - netted one goal each. Sophomore Brian Williams (Holtsville/Sachem East) added two assists.

Senior goalie Joe Scalise (Fairport) made seven saves and collected three ground balls for Cortland. Williams won 15-of-26 faceoffs and secured 10 ground balls, and junior Jace Buchek (Silver Spring, MD/ St. Andrews's Episcopal) grabbed four ground balls and caused two turnovers.

Connor Brumfield paced Ithaca with four goals and one assist. Josh Della Puca tallied two goals and three assists, and Conner Crosson recorded one goal and four assists. Jake Cotton registered two goals and one assist, while Brendan King chipped in with one goal and one assist.

Goalie Robby Atwood stopped five shots and scooped up five ground balls. Steven Landspurg won 11 faceoffs, Aaron McCartney recorded eight ground balls and three caused turnovers, Keith Morrissey caused four turnovers and collected three ground balls, King secured six ground balls and Winston Wenham registered five ground balls and three caused turnovers.
