AMBLER, Pa. – The Oswego State baseball team used solid starting pitching from
Kieran Finnegan and
Ronald Loomis to earn a doubleheader sweep of the Arcadia Knights on Sunday afternoon at Temple University's Skip Wilson Field. The Lakers won the opener, 4-3, and then held off a late rally in a 6-4 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
- The Lakers kicked off the scoring in the third when senior Rocco Leone doubled to lead off.
- A Tim Schinto walk and Paul Tammaro sacrifice had runners on second and third with one out.
- Junior Ryan Enos hit a sac-fly to center to plate Leone for a 1-0 lead.
- Arcadia tied it up in the bottom of the inning behind a walk, single and sacrifice fly of their own.
- Ryan Weiss and Nick Chilson had Oswego primed to score again in the fourth after a walk and double with two outs, but the Knights induced a groundout to escape any damage.
- The hosts took a 3-1 lead with a pair of unearned runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
- Finnegan (2-0) went six innings, allowing just the one earned run and striking out four.
- It remained 3-1 until the seventh inning when Tammaro started a two-out rally with a single.
- Enos and Brendon Frank each followed with singles as Frank plated Tammaro and then stole second.
- A double by Lukas Olsson gave the Lakers the 4-3 lead, with Olsson moving to third on a steal during the next at-bat.
- Kyle Lauria walked and stole second to put two into scoring position, but the Knights would hold to prevent further damage.
- Arcadia put runners into scoring position in each of the final three innings as Ben Wilcox took over in the seventh.
- He battled his way out of trouble each time, including striking out the final two Knights with the bases loaded in the ninth for the save.
Game 2
- In the second game, Oswego had nine hits and seven walks.
- The Lakers put runs on the board in four of the first five innings to go up 5-1 behind junior pitcher Loomis (2-0).
- Oswego added an insurance run in the seventh and then Arcadia scored three in the bottom of the eighth to make it interesting.
- Mike Di Salvo got a pair of infield groundouts and a strikeout to preserve the victory in the ninth and earn the save.
- Weiss went 2-for-2 in the second game while Frank stole three more bases during the contest.
- Lauria reached base four times with three walks and a triple as he scored twice.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers are off to Lexington, South Carolina for a Saturday doubleheader with Trinity (CT) starting at 3 p.m on Saturday.
