HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
  • The Lakers kicked off the scoring in the third when senior Rocco Leone doubled to lead off.
  • A Tim Schinto walk and Paul Tammaro sacrifice had runners on second and third with one out.
  • Junior Ryan Enos hit a sac-fly to center to plate Leone for a 1-0 lead.
  • Arcadia tied it up in the bottom of the inning behind a walk, single and sacrifice fly of their own.
  • Ryan Weiss and Nick Chilson had Oswego primed to score again in the fourth after a walk and double with two outs, but the Knights induced a groundout to escape any damage.
  • The hosts took a 3-1 lead with a pair of unearned runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
  • Finnegan (2-0) went six innings, allowing just the one earned run and striking out four.
  • It remained 3-1 until the seventh inning when Tammaro started a two-out rally with a single.
  • Enos and Brendon Frank each followed with singles as Frank plated Tammaro and then stole second.
  • A double by Lukas Olsson gave the Lakers the 4-3 lead, with Olsson moving to third on a steal during the next at-bat.
  • Kyle Lauria walked and stole second to put two into scoring position, but the Knights would hold to prevent further damage.
  • Arcadia put runners into scoring position in each of the final three innings as Ben Wilcox took over in the seventh.
  • He battled his way out of trouble each time, including striking out the final two Knights with the bases loaded in the ninth for the save.
Game 2
  • In the second game, Oswego had nine hits and seven walks.
  • The Lakers put runs on the board in four of the first five innings to go up 5-1 behind junior pitcher Loomis (2-0).
  • Oswego added an insurance run in the seventh and then Arcadia scored three in the bottom of the eighth to make it interesting.
  • Mike Di Salvo got a pair of infield groundouts and a strikeout to preserve the victory in the ninth and earn the save.
  • Weiss went 2-for-2 in the second game while Frank stole three more bases during the contest.
