Women’s Volleyball loses to New Paltz in four

GENESEO, N.Y.—Buffalo State pushed New Paltz to four sets, but was left still searching for its first SUNYAC win of the season tonight in the opening day of the second round of SUNYAC pool play hosted by Geneseo.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • New Paltz jumped out to a 2-0 lead with wins of 25-19 and 25-20, before the Bengals prolonged the match with a 25-23 victory in the third set.  The Hawks responded with a 25-11 win in the decisive fourth set.
  • New Paltz finished with a .200 attack percentage, compared to just .062 by the Bengals.  Buffalo State's blocking game kept them in the match, with 10, compared to just five by the Hawks.
  • Allie Harford (Silver Creek/Silver Creek) finished with five blocks for Buffalo State and added eight kills.
  • Lauren Hansen (Blue Point/Bayport Blue Point) added 10 kills and three block assists.
  • Alyssa Durski (Eden/Eden) posted 25 assists, and Brittney Valentine (Marietta/Marcellus) had 16 digs.
 
FOR THE FOES
  • Taylor Camillo led New Paltz with 18 kills, while Maddie Zwicki had 60 assists.

Buffalo State will play two more conference matches tomorrow against Plattsburgh and host Geneseo at 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. respectively.
