Bears fall at No. 19 SLU

CANTON, N.Y.—19th-ranked St. Lawrence University (10-3) defeated the SUNY Potsdam men's lacrosse team (4-8) 18-2 on Tuesday evening. Senior attackman Lukas Baildon (Berlin, German/JFKS Berlin) and senior midfielder Nick Orsini (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) each scored for the Bears.
 
The Saints scored the first give goals of the game and never took their foot off the gas. Conor Caffrey had a game-high five points on three goals and two assists. Jordan Dow contributed two goals and two assists and Cal Hynson scored three goals. Zachary Ettinghausen rounded out the leaders with a goal and two assists.
 
Potsdam sophomore midfielder Josh Huiatt (Lisbon, N.Y./Hugh C. Williams) had a game-high five ground balls. Junior long-stick midfielder Colby Chapman (Johnson City, N.Y./Johnson City) had three ground balls and caused two turnovers. Senior Marc Leveroni (Ballston Lake, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) won eight faceoffs and sophomore Luke Vitale (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlow) won three.
 
The Bears head to SUNY Geneseo on Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest with the Knights.
