Women’s Basketball surges past Potsdam, 71-47

BUFFALO, N.Y.— Lex Williams (Brooklyn/South Shore) scored a career-high 14 points and hauled in eight rebounds as Buffalo State overcame a first half deficit to claim a 71-47 rout over Potsdam in tonight's SUNYAC season opener.

  • Mariah Rosario (Flushing/RFK) chipped in 13 points and six rebounds.

  • A 3-pointer from Kendall Mills (Buffalo/Kenmore East) capped off a 4-0 run late to give the Bengals its first lead, 25-24 at halftime.
  • Buffalo State opened the third quarter on a 14-2 run to push the lead to 39-28 midway through the frame.
  • Jenna Faulkner (Lockport/Starpoint) scored the first three points in the fourth quarter to jump-start a 13-0 Buffalo State run to push the game out of reach.
  • The Bengals held a 30-18 advantage in points off turnovers and a 15-10 advantage in second chance points for the game.
