BUFFALO, N.Y.—
Jackie Dufresne (Lake View/Frontier) tallied a career-high seven goals as Buffalo State reached the 20-goal plateau for the third time this season in a 23-9 win over visiting Fredonia in tonight's conference opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Dufresne paced the Bengals' attack with nine points.
- Nina Schaefer (Lafayette/Lafayette) finished with six goals and two assists, and Ally Ruggieri (Brockport/Brockport) chipped in three goals and five assists.
- Morgan Hogue (Painted Post/Corning) had two goals and four assists, while Christina Krowel (Amseterdam/B.H.-B.L.) and Kayla Rose (Lancaster/Lancaster) scored three goals and one goal respectively.
- Kendall Skuse (Churchville/Churchville-Chili) scored a goal and added two assists.
- Five different Buffalo State players scored in the first 13 minutes of the game to give the Bengals an 8-1 lead at the 17:09 mark of the first half.
- Fredonia responded with scoring three of the next four goals to trim the lead to 9-4 with 10 minutes left in the first frame.
- Buffalo State closed the half on a 5-2 run to take a 14-6 lead at halftime and never looked back.
- The Blue Devils scored back-to-back goals in the second half to cut the lead to 16-9 with 20 minutes left in the contest.
- The Bengals scored the final seven goals to cruise for the win.
- Buffalo State held a 34-20 advantage in shots and completed 14 of its 15 clears in the contest.
- Elyse Stark (Lido Beach/Long Beach) earned the win in net for the Bengals, finishing with eight saves in 60 minutes of work.
FOR THE FOES
- Alexis Skowron led Fredonia's offense, scoring four goals and adding two assists.
- Madeline Haney, Emily Ellis, Casey Villagomez and Alli Coon all scored for the Blue Devils.
- Nicole Burrows was credited with the loss in the net, recording eight saves in 51 minutes of action.
NOTEWORTHY
- Buffalo State's 23 goals were the most in a game in program history.
- The victory earns Buffalo State two points in the season-long "Battle by the Lake" competition between the two schools. Fredonia currently leads 17-9.
