ITHACA, N.Y. -- Fredonia earned a split in its women's volleyball tri-match Saturday with Ithaca and Alfred.
After falling 3-0 to the host Bombers, the Blue Devils (10-7) took down the Saxons 3-0.
Kailey Falk (York, N.Y.) was Fredonia's top player vs. Alfred with seven kills, two digs, and 13 digs.
Rachel Aiello (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) also had seven kills and two digs. Haillie Christopher (East Amherst, N.Y.) was credited with 17 assists and
Rachel Poirier (West Seneca, N.Y.) with 10 digs.
Falk had another eight kills, eight digs, and four blocks against Alfred.
Selena Brown (South Ozone Park, N.Y.) added seven kills and also had four blocks.
Amanda Mosack (Webster, N.Y.) collected six service aces along with 26 assists.
Rachel Poirier topped the Devils with 19 digs.
"We started slow in most of our sets today," Fredonia Head Coach
Geoff Braun said. "We were always fighting back (and) never really controlled either match. But we did do a great job of supporting each other and maintaining our composure."
The Blue Devils are back in SUNYAC action next Friday when they take on Oneonta at Oswego.
