Men's lacrosse falls at home to No. 13 Ithaca

The SUNY Oneonta men's lacrosse team hosted No. 13 Ithaca College today falling 13-5.  The loss for the Red Dragons dropped them back to the .500 mark at 3-3 overall while the Bombers remained undefeated at 6-0.
 
The Bombers built themselves a 10-0 lead by halftime before Oneonta picked away at the lead with five straight goals of their own in the third and fourth quarter to trail 10-5 with nearly five minutes left in the contest.  Ithaca stopped the comeback attempt with three late goals including one with four seconds to go.
 
Five different players scored goals today for Oneonta.  The quintet included Michael Cegielski (Yorktown Heights/Somers), Hunter DeLuca (Medford/Patchogue Medford), Stephen Panno (Holtsville/Sachem East), Nick Schuman (Webster/Webster Thomas) and Ryan MacDevitt (Sayville/Sayville).  The goal for MacDevitt was the first of his collegiate career.  Panno's goal came with a man-up in the fourth quarter giving him 10 goals on the season.  Cegielski also added a pair of assists to give him three points today.
 
The Bombers had five players score two goals each in the game.  Ryan Ozsvath added three assists to go with his one goal to give him four points to match Connor Brumfield who scored a pair and assisted on two others.
 
Making his first appearance at any level of lacrosse in goal today for Oneonta was freshman Jake Boston (Highland Mills/Monroe Woodbury).  Boston settled into the game after the first quarter and finished the game with nine saves including eight over the final three quarters.
 
Oneonta will not play again until next Wednesday when they travel to the other hill to face city rival Hartwick College.  The game is scheduled for a 4pm faceoff.
