BROCKPORT, N.Y.— The College at Brockport women's soccer team dropped a hard-fought match against State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) foe, SUNY Geneseo, on Saturday by a score of 4-0.
The record for the Golden Eagles stands at 7-4-2 and 2-2-1 in SUNYAC play. The Knights move to 11-0-1 on the season and 5-0 in conference.
The Green and Gold played a close first half against the Knights, trading opportunities for the first 32 minutes of the match. Senior forward
Maddie Siclare led the way with two of the team's four shots. Brockport fell behind in the 32nd minute after a shot from Geneseo hit the crossbar and bounced in. The score did not change as the match headed into half time.
The Golden Eagles continued to fight for opportunities in the second half, but were unable to find the back of the net. The Knights would knock in three more goals in a 12-minute span that Brockport could not recover from.
The Green and Gold continue conference play on Friday Oct. 13 when host Oswego State for a 3 p.m. match-up.
