OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's lacrosse team defeated SUNY Canton, 19-5, at home on Saturday afternoon. With the win, Oswego finishes the regular season with a 10-5 record. Prior to their victory, the Lakers honored seniors

Oswego jumped out to a quick lead over Canton, scoring six unanswered goals within the first 10 minutes. The Kangaroos managed to score three goals in the half, but the Lakers took a commanding 10-3 lead into halftime. In the second half, Oswego continued their offensive dominance while holding Canton to just two goals, bringing the final score to 19-5.
Teresa Shattuck racked up a game-high 11 points, just one shy of her career-high, off of four goals and seven assists. The junior's seven draw controls were also a game-high.
Gemma O'Kane scored five goals in the contest, the most of either team. Oswego's victory was truly a team effort as nine different Lakers contributed goals.

Angela Ponto played 53:07 in the net, making four saves and allowing four goals.
Elianna Sanchez came into the goal for the final 6:53, recording two saves and giving up one goal.
The Lakers have clinched a spot in the SUNYAC Championship. Their seed will be determined once Saturday's conference matchups have concluded. The first round of the SUNYAC Championship begins on Tuesday.
