SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The nationally 15th-ranked Cortland women's lacrosse team scored the first 10 goals of the game in earning a 16-5 win at Union College Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action. The Red Dragons improved to 2-0 with the victory, while the Dutchwomen fell to 0-1.
Sophomore
Brie Yonge (Penn Yan/Penn Yan Academy) tallied a career-high five points on a career-best four goals and one assist to lead Cortland. Sophomore Lexie Meager (Syracuse/West Genesee) matched Yonge's four goals, and junior
Carly Stone (Syracuse/Jamesville-DeWitt) recorded a game-high six points on three goals and three assists. Freshman
Hannah Lorenzen (Stony Brook/Ward Melville) contributed two goals and one assist, senior
Jaycie Annable (Navarino/Onondaga) netted two goals and senior
Katie Wolfe (East Amherst/Williamsville North) chipped in with one goal and one assist.

Cailin Pandolfi scored twice for Union. Abby Stoller tallied one goal and two assists, Ramsey Walsh and Isabel Bush each netted a goal and Kellie Cronin chipped in with an assist. Goalie Ellen Taney made five saves. Erika Bonnist recorded four ground balls and two caused turnovers, Cronin had three ground balls and two caused turnovers, Celia Condrick collected three ground balls and forced four turnovers and M.K. McIntire secured four draws.
Yonge and Meager each notched three goals and Stone picked up two goals and two assists as the Red Dragons built their 10-0 advantage with 8:42 remaining in the first half. Pandolfi ended Union's scoring drought at 7:06 before Annable closed the first half with her second goal of the game at 3:12.
The Dutchwomen scored two of the first three goals of the second half, but Cortland netted four straight goals from four different players to increase the lead to 16-3 with 11:41 remaining. Union tallied the final two goals in the last six minutes for the 16-5 final.
