NEW PALTZ, N.Y. -- Fredonia fell to New Paltz, 3-1, on the next-to-last day of the regular season of SUNYAC women's soccer.
The Blue Devils took a 1-0 lead when junior
Aleeya Clemons (Olean, N.Y.) scored in the 16th minute on a set up from junior
Abby Price (Naples, N.Y.). It was Clemons's 10th goal of the season, the most by a Fredonia woman since Reilly Condidorio had 14 goals in 2011.
The Hawks drew even on a goal by Gabriela Cabello in the 36th minute then took the lead for good on a Fredonia own goal when a ball played into the box deflected off a Blue Devil defender. New Paltz's Julia Friedman scored in the 62nd minute to complete the scoring.
The Blue Devils fell to 6-10-1 overall and 2-5-1 in the SUNYAC. They will need to win Saturday afternoon at Oneonta and get help in order to make the six-team SUNYAC Tournament.
