PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -- A trip to Plattsburgh resulted in a 77-60 loss for the Fredonia men's basketball team on Friday. Kay Jackson ( Ridgewood, N.Y. / Grover Cleveland ) led the Devils with 17 points, and freshman Jonathan McDonald ( Brooklyn, N.Y. / High School for Public Service ) added 14 points and 8 rebounds. Eli Bryant had 22 off the bench for Plattsburgh.

A free throw by Chris Marinez ( Jamaica, N.Y. / Hillcrest ) put the Devils up 18-15 with 9:00 minutes to play in the first half. Plattsburgh then rattled off the next 13 points to take a 28-18 lead. They went into the half maintaining a 35-29 lead.

Eight minutes into the second half, the Devils moved within three, 46-43, following a pair of free throws by De'Quan Smith. The Cardinals then pulled away with a 10-point run to put the game out of reach.

Fredonia falls to 1-5 and 0-1 in the conference. Plattsburgh moves to 2-2 and 1-0.

The Devils travel to Potsdam tomorrow afternoon for a 3 p.m. tip following the women's game.
