RUTLAND, V.T.— The MCLA Men's Hockey team was kept off the scoreboard for the second straight game at the Vermont State University Castleton Terry Moran Invitational Tournament. The SUNY Morrisville Mustangs scored an even strength and a powerplay goal in all three periods for the game's 6-0 final score

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • MCLA's Landry Laird made his second start of the season, making 37 saves, but still saw his record drop to 1-1-0.
  • The Mustangs scored their first goal 50 seconds into a power play when Trevor Neumann got one past Laird about four and a half minutes off the clock. Assists were credited to Trevor Grasby and Chris Mott. The second goal of the period was scored by Stevie Gerbis about five minutes later with help from Andrew Manley and Matteo Diblasio.
  • SUNY Morrisville added two more goals in the second period; the first was an even-strength goal with exactly one minute off the clock scored by Curtis Abbott from Jacob Black and Robert Haak. Haak scored the power-play goal just before the nine-minute mark, with the assist going to Gerbis.
  • The third-period goals were credited to Ethan Henry (assisted by Logan Robins & Neumann) and Manley (Haak and Gerbis). The Manley goal was scored on the power play.
  • The Mustangs' Ryan Creenan made 11 saves to keep his sheet clean and recorded his first win of the season, improving to 1-2-0.
  • MCLA's Shane Green was named to the All-Tournament team.
